Complete Tire Care for Every Vehicle

At Fitzpatrick Auto Repair, we handle every aspect of tire care for drivers across the DMV area. Whether you've picked up a nail on the Beltway, feel a vibration at highway speed, or simply want your tires to last as long as they should, we'll inspect them thoroughly and give you a straight answer about what they need.

Regular rotation and balancing are the two simplest ways to extend the life of a set of tires. When tires stay in one position too long, they wear unevenly — front tires shoulder-wear from steering, rear tires wear flat. Rotating them on schedule evens that wear out, and balancing keeps the ride smooth and prevents the shaking that makes long drives miserable.

If your vehicle pulls to one side, or your steering wheel sits crooked when you're driving straight, an alignment is usually the fix. Proper alignment protects your tires, improves fuel economy, and makes the car track straight and predictable. And when it's time for new tires, we'll help you choose the right set for your vehicle and budget, install them correctly, and make sure your TPMS system reads accurately before you leave.

    Tire Service FAQs

How often should I rotate my tires?
Most manufacturers recommend a tire rotation every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, or at every oil change. Regular rotations help your tires wear evenly and last longer. We can check your tread wear pattern and recommend the right interval for your vehicle and driving habits.
What's the difference between wheel balancing and alignment?
Balancing corrects weight distribution around the tire and wheel assembly — it fixes vibration you feel in the steering wheel or seat at speed. Alignment adjusts the angles of the wheels so they meet the road correctly — it fixes pulling to one side and uneven tread wear. Many vehicles need both, and we'll tell you honestly which one yours needs.
Can you repair a flat tire, or do I need a new one?
It depends on where the damage is. A puncture in the tread area can usually be repaired safely with a proper patch-plug repair. Damage to the sidewall or shoulder can't be repaired safely and requires a replacement tire. We'll inspect the tire and show you exactly what we find before doing any work.
Why is my TPMS light on?
The tire pressure monitoring system light usually means one or more tires is underinflated — often from temperature changes or a slow leak. It can also indicate a failed TPMS sensor. We can check your pressures, inspect for leaks, and diagnose or replace faulty sensors.
